PSEC thingamugumy

In our self governing system of democracy at PSEC, I must confess to a lack of enough experience to make any quality revisions to its current policies.

Our PSEC committee meetings are in some ways similar to the Continental Congress in that it is a body of people who all share a common interest in a society, whether said society be a the whole Eastern half of the later USA or a school. PSEC's community meetings and Advisory Council are a possible challenge to Highline's main campus' governing force in charge of their PSEC department. Although we are a very minor threat and do our best to keep all of our policies in line with Highline's rules, there is a chance that one day both the PSEC community and the Advisory Council will overlook something and Highline's rules will force them to enact stricter policies. I plan to make sure this does not happen if I am elected into the advisory council however. Of course the stricter control of the Highline council will problbly not change to much, they will likely just keep a better watch over the policies we set. This is in line with Gerda Lerner's theory that no event in history is ever repeated exactly as it happend again, and that we should instead take a more general approach to learning from the past.
